1. Introduction
CallFiltr ("CallFiltr", "we", "us" or "our") is a product of Vriksha AI. CallFiltr gives you Ira, an AI assistant that answers calls you can't take, screens spam, takes messages and tells you what each call was about. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the CallFiltr mobile application and related web services, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have.
We process personal data in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and other applicable laws. By installing or using CallFiltr you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Information We Collect
Account information
- Mobile number: used to create your account and verify it with a one-time password (OTP) sent by SMS.
- Name and how Ira should refer to you: used to personalise Ira's greeting to callers.
- Language and assistant preferences: app language, Ira's voice, call language and greeting.
Phone and carrier information
- SIM and carrier (for example "Jio, SIM 1"): used to set up call forwarding to Ira with the right carrier code and to detect when your SIM or number changes.
- Forwarding numbers you add, so Ira can pass calls on when you ask it to.
Call information
- Calls handled by Ira: caller number, time, duration, the outcome (message taken, switched to you, blocked, and so on) and the category Ira assigns.
- Call audio, transcripts and summaries: Ira processes call audio in real time to talk with the caller, and saves a transcript and short summary so you can read what happened.
- Call recordings: saved only when recording is turned on for a call, in line with your recording setting. When a call is recorded, the caller hears a notice that the call is being recorded.
- Your feedback: ratings and comments you give on how Ira handled a call, and category corrections.
Contacts and lists
- With your permission, CallFiltr reads your phone's contacts on your device to recognise callers and suggest people for your lists. Your full contact list is not uploaded to our servers.
- The people you add to your VIP, priority or blocked lists (name and number) are stored with your account so Ira can apply your rules to calls it answers.
Settings and preferences
- Answer mode, ring time, status and status schedule, category rules, personal messages, notification choices, salary range (used only to estimate the value of time saved) and WhatsApp message templates and rules.
Subscription information
- Your plan, trial status, usage and billing history. Payments are processed by Google Play, the Apple App Store or our payment partner (for UPI Autopay). We do not receive or store your full card or bank details.
Device and usage information
- Device model, operating system version, app version, push-notification token, crash reports and in-app events used to keep the service working and improve it.
3. Information About People Who Call You
When Ira answers a call, it processes information about the caller: their phone number, their voice and what they say, and any name or category associated with them. We process this on your behalf, only to provide the service to you, and we do not use it to market to callers.
- Ira identifies itself as your assistant at the start of every call it answers.
- If a call is recorded, the caller hears a recording notice.
- Callers who send Ira a message may receive a WhatsApp or SMS reply only if you turn on auto-replies or send one yourself.
- Spam reports you make may be combined, without your personal details, with reports from other users to help identify spam numbers.
You are responsible for using CallFiltr in line with the law that applies to you, including any rules on informing people that their calls are answered by an assistant or recorded.
4. How We Use Information
- Answer, screen, categorise, block, forward or switch calls according to your settings.
- Show you live transcripts, summaries, messages and call history, and send you notifications about calls.
- Send WhatsApp or SMS messages to callers when you ask us to.
- Set up and check call forwarding with your carrier.
- Verify your account, manage your subscription and provide support.
- Detect spam and fraud, keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
- Improve Ira's accuracy and the app's reliability. Where we use call content to improve our models, we do so only in de-identified form.
- Meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data or your callers' data, and we do not use call content for advertising.
5. Device Permissions
CallFiltr asks for these permissions only when a feature needs them. You can change them at any time in your phone's settings, but some features will stop working.
- Phone / call: to dial your carrier's forwarding code, detect incoming calls and your SIM, and let you answer calls Ira switches to you.
- Contacts: to recognise callers and pick VIPs (processed on your device).
- Notifications: to alert you about live calls, messages, urgent calls and daily summaries.
- Display over other apps (Android): for the optional floating status widget.
- Microphone: only when you join a call through CallFiltr.
6. Sharing and Service Providers
We share information only as needed to run CallFiltr, with providers bound by contract to use it solely for that purpose:
- Telephony providers: to receive forwarded calls and connect calls to you.
- Speech and AI providers: to convert speech to text, generate Ira's replies and voice, and summarise calls.
- Cloud hosting: to store your account and call data (see Storage below).
- Messaging: WhatsApp (Meta) and SMS providers, when messages are sent to callers.
- Payments: Google Play, the Apple App Store and our payment partner for UPI Autopay.
- Notifications and analytics: push notification delivery and crash reporting.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a merger or acquisition, in which case this Policy will continue to apply.
7. Storage and Security
- Call audio, transcripts, recordings and account data are stored encrypted on servers located in India.
- All data between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
- Access to personal data is limited to staff and providers who need it to run the service.
- No system is completely secure. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as the DPDP Act requires.
8. Retention
- Conversations (transcripts, summaries, call details) are kept for the period you choose in Settings → Privacy and data: 30 days, 90 days, 1 year or until you delete them.
- Recordings follow the same setting, and you can delete them individually or all at once.
- Account data is kept while your account is active.
- Billing records may be kept longer where tax or accounting law requires.
- De-identified, aggregated data that cannot be linked back to you may be kept to improve the service.
9. Account and Data Deletion
How to delete
- In the app: Settings → Privacy and data → Delete account. You can also delete all conversations or all recordings there without deleting your account.
- By email: write to support@vriksha.ai with the subject "Data Deletion Request" from, or mentioning, your registered mobile number so we can verify you.
What is deleted
Your profile, settings, lists, conversations, transcripts, summaries, recordings, message templates and notification tokens.
Timeline
In-app deletion takes effect immediately in the app; data is removed from our systems and backups within 30 days. Email requests are processed within 7 business days.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through Google Play or the App Store. Cancel it in your store account to stop future charges. Remember to turn off call forwarding with your carrier too; the app shows you how.
10. Your Rights and Choices
Under the DPDP Act and other applicable laws, you can:
- Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct or update your information, most of which you can edit directly in the app.
- Erase your data, as described above.
- Withdraw consent at any time, for example by turning off recording, revoking permissions or deleting your account. Withdrawal does not affect processing done before it.
- Nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.
- Raise a grievance with us, and if unresolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
11. Children
CallFiltr is meant for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy as the app or the law changes. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use CallFiltr after that means you accept the updated Policy.
